Exceeding ROO for Trade Show Floor Meetings

Challenge: A promotional products company (okay, it was us, Lev Promotions) was exhibiting at our first international trade show/conference (ExhibitorLive) and wanted to ensure some show floor meetings were set up ahead of time with clients and prospects

Solution: A pre-show marketing postcard was sent out to the contacts and clients Lev Promotions' has in our database from previous attendance at the conference. In addition, Lev Promotions purchased the show's mailing list narrowing the list down to it's specific requirements as much as allowed by show management. The postcards went out a little over 2 weeks before the show start with an enticement for to receive a high mAh personalized power bank after the meeting when that meeting was set by 2/12 for show floor hours on 2/25 - 2/27. (Due to heavy snow causing delayed production of the postcards and their mailing, the deadline was extended to 2/15.)

Lev Promotions got a 162% ROO (return on objectives) for this promotion with the number of meetings being set on the show floor exceeding our goals by 62%. In addition, the back of the postcard featured the daily and overarching activities in our booth, so we had repeat visitors and visitors who showed up card in hand to participate in those activities. As of this writing (3 weeks after the show), Lev Promotions has already put out four proposals based on in-booth discussions with the people who set meetings. We've also been asked for information on the charger we gave out and for help in shows later in the year to set up a similar program. (We'll be updating with our ROI figures from this show a little later in the year.)
